Now the pencil drawing effect has a new flavor. This new one makes a lot of extra calculations to don't let strokes to destroy mid-tone regions and also to show representative lines in a better way.
The images show an example where using this "smarter" pencil drawer can be interesting (second image has the old effect and third has the new one). Anyway, it's not always the best choice. Images with very high values in frequency domain usually don't give a very beautiful result with this new option.
