Cloud text

Some time ago, I told here that people would not worry about trying to use smoke text effect to create cloud text. It was because I would develop a tool specifically to render cloud texts.

Well, time has come. I have already released a feature at Picture to People site to generate nice cloud text effects. It uses 100% procedural algorithms and has several styles to choose from.

Below I show an example about what you can create by using the Cloud Text tool. By the own nature of clouds, usually they have a certain kind of mix (fade) with environment. Having this in mind, be aware the background color you choose has a big influence in the resulting effect you get. You can click the example image to enlarge it.

I have created a new effect to render text made of clouds.

As I told before, I intend to have 100 different text renderings to offer as soon as possible.

A lot of people have been asking me how long I will take to put the "surprise" online. Take it easy, guys. I do everything lonely and I have just my rest time to make it. Maybe some more weeks will be enough to have online a first release.

Continuing the examples about my researches "not canonically vector based", I brought back a very interesting library I coded years ago. A library for make procedurally calculated text drawings.

I created math models for render procedural materials having a font outline as directional field. The results can be beautiful and make a lot of sense for use in a suitable context. The image above, for example, could be very interesting in a site about airplanes, nature or weather (of course the rendered word would not be "Text").

The screenshots show results of a particular model developed to render text made of clouds.

If I receive enough asks, I will make a special page concerning most of my "nature mimic" effects for text.
