Developing new creative graffiti text logo creators

Picture to People project has a very successful Online Graffiti Text Logo Creator. It's used by thousands and more thousands of users every month. Anyway, I was never completely satisfied with it. I want much more!

Since almost one year ago, I have been researching a lot about what users expect and like most when they look for a graffiti generator.

Based on the informations I have collected, I have been planning, designing and testing possibilities to create a new killer graffiti text logo maker.

After months of hard work developing new features and improving P2P graphic libraries, I started getting the first visible results of what can become a new amazingly powerful and productive online graffiti generator.

Anyway, beware: no matter Picture to People text effect tools can understand the more uncommon chars of that languages, the softwares still depend on the font file data to know how to draw them. It means that if you choose a font that doesn't implement some letter of your text, that letter can be rendered as an empty space, a square or whatever the font data contains (even nothing).

If you have problems rendering more complex texts, you can choose the Arial or Tahoma fonts, because for sure they have all characters for the fully supported languages (and most for the partially supported ones). They are not artistic or special fonts, but at least you can create the text effect with the correct spelling.

Developing a new online graffiti text generator

I'm working very hard to create a new world class graffiti text generator. In some way, it will be a complementary software to the graffiti text creator we have already published.

I'm excited about this new renderer, because probably it will be a great success. It has been made mainly taking in account the many suggestions I have received from our users concerning how the ideal graffiti effect should be. I'm also trying to incorporate some creative ideas I had these last months.

It has been very hard to make, mainly because many of its operations are not easy to calculate and I can't let it take too long to finish the results. Other challenge is to create a great software able to create several useful kinds of graffitis, but without too many or complex parameters.

Despite there are many problems to be solved, I'm confident I will be able to create a great tool, so I will continue putting a big effort on this. Anyway Picture to People already has a very cool, advanced and powerful Online 3D graffiti text maker.

Font Effects vs Text Effects

I see many people, including many graphic designers,  using "font effect" (also known as "typography effect" or "typographic effect") and "text effect" as synonymous expressions. Well, for me they mean different things.

A text effect is the creation of a "special text" by using a font face as a guide. The result usually looks complex and very different of what a font can be, despite such result, in most cases, keeps that shape information inherited from the guide font.

A graphic text generated through an effect can look like anything and can have any color distribution. In most cases, it doesn't make sense changing that configuration to any arbitrary set of colors. Usually a text effect is a final product and should be used "like is". You can make small adjusts on it like you would make on a photo (modifying contrast for example).

A font effect is the creation of a kind of "new font" based on a existing one. The result of this process is something that could be a font itself and could even be used as input to generate text effects.

A font defines the shape of letters and must be simple enough to be successfully rendered by using one color (in fact, there will be pixels of other colors in edges if anti-aliasing is present, but that colors never will be different from an intermediate color between the rendering color and the background color). When we apply an effect to a font, we are modifying the shape of letters and maybe their spacing.

If what you need is a simple text created by using a regular font with "interesting modifications", in fact you want to use a font effect. If you think "I would like to create a text with this font, but would be nice if it was a little different", so you want a font effect.

Picture to People offers a very nice set of font effects, and you can choose from more that 450 font faces. If you like typography, you could like to use P2P Online Font Effects. Despite they are font effects, many of them go beyond what you can get by using a regular True Type font (ttf), as you can see in the second and third examples below.

These samples were created by starting from the good old Arial font. First you have a "Dashed Outline Arial font", after you have a "Frozen Arial font" and finally it's a "Smoke Arial font".

Fresh online metallic text generators

I have just published several new beautiful metallic text effects in P2P software called Online Text Effects.

By using this software, you can choose among hundreds of high quality text effects, and the metallic ones occupy a prominent position. There already were many different generators for metallic rendering, and now you have some more interesting options.

More fonts to create special text effects online

I have published some more fonts to be used with most of Picture to People online text effect generators. Since I also use P2P software to make my design works, I always miss a new different font to have more options and make my life easier. :)

As usual, you can choose these new font faces when using most of our free online text effect creators, like for example:

1) be reasonably different from the already offered fonts;
2) implement at least all letters, numbers and punctuation marks;
3) be free for personal and commercial use.

Create lava text effects online for free

I have just published a new section at the already very big P2P software called Online Text Effects.

Now there are some very beautiful, ready to use lava text effects. Using them along with some interesting font faces, you can create awesome results.

Generate 3D text effects with your country's flag

I have released a software to mix "3D text effects" + "country flags". Now Picture to People turned easy to create "national text effects".

This tool offers flags of all countries around the world and delivers effects with several 3D styles and optional transparent background as you already know from P2P text effects. Everything rendered with professional anti-aliasing, even when using transparency.

Create 3D silver text effects online

This time I show some more examples of my new online text generators that are focused on render silver texts. You can use them all by starting from the Silver Text Effects page.

There are many silver styles, from rough brute silver metal to polished shiny silver. For sure you will find a style suitable to your needs, no matter the kind of effect or interface you intend to create.

In the previous post I have shown a not very reflective, kind of opaque silver style. This time I present you some brighter silver types that I have used along with a different 3D style. Click a image to see in full size.

A software to draw watermark text on your images

I have published a free software to draw watermark texts on images. It was a request of some users since a long time ago and helps to protect your pictures because it generates semi-transparent text on images.

This software is powerful and can be used to draw several kinds of texts over your photos (not necessarily watermarks). You can set the text disposition, font, size, color, transparency and other useful graphic elements. As usual for P2P tools, the text is always drawn with professional anti-aliasing.
